Kentuck
Singer-Songwriter
This is an Excellent CD
Phil grew up
in Kentucky in the hard times of the 1950's. He was orphaned at 9 years old along with his
three brothers and sister, and was placed in a children's home in which he remained for
the next six years.
Kentuck loved to listen to the radio and sing along with the Beatles and many other
popular artists of the time. From this early experience grew the passion for music and a
need to do something for the world, and for the people who had very little. 50% of the
proceeds received from the sales of his CD's is donated to World Vison, an organization
dedcated to helping people less fortunate than many of us, around the World...
Phil has lived on the streets; slept in junk cars; and shared hobo stew with the wino's,
(as they are called,) on the banks of the Ohio River.
Kentuck recently retired from 25 years of commercial fishing, and his songs reflect the
changes that people can endure and still come out okay. He now lives with his wife of ten
years, Lynne, in Gustavus, Alaska, and works part time for the Glacier Bay National Park.
He loves being near the water; his guitar, 2 cats and his dog.
Kentuck can be found on most Summer afternoons on the Mt. Fairweather Golf Course in
Gustavus with his buddy, Charlie Rice, playing golf with Charlie, and the wild geese. And,
he's always on time...
